Wow, am I flying through this list or what?! It sure does seem like it, but only 2 more weeks to clean off as many plates as I can! Here we have another insauga Top 5 completed! Paramount was the final place on my list that is acclaimed one of the best Shawarma locations in Mississauga. Because this place was dine in, it was always a debate to go here. I was certain it wouldn't be the same as my preferred way to eat the Mediterranean delicacy of chicken and rice smothered in a heavenly garlic sauce! And I was right, it wasn't the way I normally prefer it, however that's not to say it wasn't good! The dining experience as a whole was delightful! You order your food at a counter in the back of the restaurant before you take a seat and wait for your food. I can see that being a little troublesome when the place is busy, but luckily for us it was pretty low key. When we ordered, we received complimentary Pita Bread fresh out of their oven! The bread was so good, nice and warm, and was so tempting seeing the steam rice and dance as you pulled it apart, However, they don't give you anything to dip the bread in or to eat with it...at least when you get complimentary items at a restaurant (Like chips, or table bread) there is something to accompany it (Salsa, butter, etc). Me and Kassandra Lipman found ourselves sprinkling salt and chili powder on the bread, we even went as far as using Ketchup at one point but that didn't last long. We ordered some falafelè's as an appetizer (0.99 ea) because I haven't had one ever done right. They were crazy crunchy and fried to perfection. Flavorful and crisp, and good size for their price. We both ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate, naturally. It came with the rice, the chicken, some pita, salad. The rice was very bland which is unfortunate...white basmati rice needs something to give it flavor. On its own its nothing special... The chicken was cooked very good and had great taste. Not the best chicken Iv'e had but very decent. The garlic sauce seemed like it was totally absent, but nope. That little, insignificant 1oz cup at the top of the plate, yup that's all you get without having to pay for extra. Now its a disappointment to not have the meal smothered in the saucy sexualness, but where it lacked in quantity it wa

s made up for it flavor. It was super concentrated in that garlic flavor. Thick and pungent. Was more of a spread than a sauce in its consistency, It was surely one of the best tasting garlic sauces I've tried with my shawarma. It would be better in a wrap cause the distribution of food on a plate is too much for the garlicky goodness. The way to go about this dish was to spoon a little bit of everything on the plate into a ripped off piece of pita and eat it with your hands. That made all the difference, cause everything it finally together that way in one bite and everything compliments it too. I discovered how amazing the pickled radishes are in the sharawma. I never enjoyed them on their own, but with the rice, chicken, garlic sauce....OMG. I'll make it a staple when I set sails for shawarma succulence for now on! Overal the meal was great and i'll definitely recommend this place next time me and my family want to go out to eat and they're in the Mediterranean mood. However other than that, I'd rather get my Chicken on the Rocks street style, Styrofoam container and all!
