There's no doubt the feast seemed to have ceased, but you can't fill the beast. Still hungry but poor AF, I couldn't afford these reviews nor do I have the resources up at school. North York is a snoooooze fest for food joints, and believe me I love a good snooze after a feast. But that's not related to this problem. I have sources of some hidden gems nearby that I do hope to hit tho so lets try and hold out for those. ]\
Now here's the origin story for my "feastures"...TM
The first place i saw nearby my home on the show "You Got To Eat Here" was the Harbor Diner. You can say it sparked the motive to try places with such hyp! This place was the first on my list but never hit it...until now.
The place was super small and the interior nothing special, but it was right the harbor of Hamilton and situated in the area where life sorta....slows down. But the place really doesn't stand out from its exterior. If I didn't hear about this place on the Tv, I would honestly walk right on by it.
This joint was the first place to open my eyes to being the foodie I am today, and the first dish to cause me to crave the foodie lifestyle was their Lobster Mac and Cheese. So there was no if and's or but's to what I was ordering for my main course, but there was still room for an appetizer.... My Uncle, who so graciously fulfilled this food fantasy for me suggested the seafood soup. It was a spot on suggestion too, as I had been hankering for a hearty bowel of muscles, fish, shrimp and scallop's purifying in a delicious tomato broth. But that was only half the act, accompanied by it was a huge loaf of garlic break, big enough for the two of us. It had all the right crispy, flaky texture for the crust litterally leaving a breadcrumb trail behind it as you pull it apart. And I swear by it that they injected the inside with a cloud...like an actual cloud,
After that was done, the Mac and Cheese had arrived in all its crab and lobster, cheesy, carb-loaded glory. Despite watching the show, and seeing the amount of cheese that goes into the dish, it really wasn't over done with cheese by any means. Beautiful chunks of lobster meat hidden within the mac; like finding treasure...except better. It was crazy dense too, even me thinking so I felt my fullness catch up pretty soon, but it doesn't matter how close it gets, its never done justice #FattyMcFatFat My Uncle got the meatloaf, which was a rich with its meaty gravy that was made with caramelized onions and real earthy mushrooms. The meatloaf was just so moist it really couldn't even stand up on the plate like its suppose too. And the mash potatoes with it were buttery and smooth. He also had himself a ceasers as we dined, which he claimed was a tad spicier than most ceasers. Next time ill have to get my own so I can see if he was just being a woos or not ;D
All in all, everything about the food to me was perfect. I couldn't have been more pleased and if I ever find myself in the Hammer again, I'll be sure to visit again!
Mom Would Love this place/10
