La Diperie is a soft serve sensation that originated in Quebec and is offering its delectable ice cream creations to the Toronto crowd. Dressed up soft serve seems to be what were all screaming over for ice cream now and days. La diperie is doing the same thing but adding 1 more layer than the rest....a cookies and cream layer? Or perhaps a dark chocolate chili? Salted caramel? Maybe Marshmallow? La Diperie is named so for the diverse dipped cone flavors they offer. I'm a sucker for the ol' chocolate dipped; but now I can get a cone dipped in a Key lime coating and top it with Graham cracker crumbs? What wonderland have I stepped into...

Upon arrival there was quite the line up (Not nearly as big a line up as sweet jesus), but it moved along fairly quickly. The wait gave us some time to make up our minds for what we wanted. The options were so extensive...the possibilities were just flooding my mind. It was hard to make up my mind with so many choices. They also give you the option to have your ice cream in a baked pastry cone. Ahhh, like I could say no to that. These pastry cones seem to also be picking up popularity and it was my first chance to try one. i was so conflicted between two ice cream flavors to get, so I did the only reasonable thing and got both. One in the pastry cone and another in a "mini" which only costed 1$ for the cone+ice cream, 1$ for the dip and 0.50$ for topping. I ordered up a salted caramel dipped cone with candied pecans and also got a cookies and cream with crushed wafers for the mini. I was very pleased with the mini as it gave me a chance to try another flavor without spending so much money or gorging out on 2 cones. It was actually adorable having the mini and very satisfying with its size for the price. The flavors of the dipped cones were fantastic. The oreo was my favorite for the two I had, since the salted caramel I felt lacked the saltiness I like, but it still had great and prominent caramel flavor. The toppings are plenty-full, not overly covered, but enough for the two quarters you dish for it. The pastry cone that the ice cream was served in was warmed up before being topped with ice cream, and was even given a drizzle in the cavity with your dip flavor. however I felt the cone didn't offer much of a flavor component to the cone. It was like puff pastry. It would have been better if it had a cinnamon sugar coating or flavor to it. If I go back, I'll probably just go with a regular or waffle cone, because its everything on top of the cone that's got me wanting to go back to this place.

The concept of this place is great! With 30 options to dip you soft serve in and many toppings including cookies, nuts, sprinkles and pretzels. So many possibilities and I guarantee you, you will be tempted to get a couple ,mini cones of a couple flavors cause you'll be too torn to choose.
