Ain't no body screams louder than me when it comes to ice cream. My need for ice cream is like Christopher Walken's prescription for cow-bell. Usually an ice cream joint would be generating buzz from radical flavors that go from un-fathomable to unbelievable. But lately its been the vessel that said ice cream nestles that has been mystifying social media. Booyah is definitely one of these places with their signature "Waffle Ice cream Taco". For the record, Booyah is not just all waffle cones, even tho that's all we see lately. They have many house made cookies they sell that can be made into ice cream sandwiches, and the traditional cones they offer as well. The flavors of ice cream sold there are your traditional flavors, along with those "trend-itional" flavors like Birthday cake or Cinnamon toast crunch. The ice cream flavors spot on! For the taco cone, you are allowed THREE flavors! I went with my favorites: Cookie dough, Birthday cake and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Believe me, it was hard to have to choose only three from their section! There were scarifies made (Sorry Cookies and Cream). After they stuff the cone with ice cream, they top it with whipped cream and TWO toppings (Sprinkles, Oreo crumbs, snores, chocolate sauce, caramel, and more). The aesthetics of this creation are not far from what you see in the photo's. It is incredibly visually appealing, but DO NOT be fooled by the concept of the ice cream taco, Its wonderful as you bring the cone to your face, tilt your head and imagine taking this epic bite. Than once you do, you're reminded of the one flaw of the taco as the shell splits and your back end tumbles off, bounces off your thigh and tragically lands on your streets of Toronto, Damn....this is why I never hard shell taco. #SoftShellSquad. This was hard to accept the fallen scoop of cookie dough...I will forever be in wonder of what you truly are. The ice cream, the whip cream, the toppings...everything tasting so good. Other than the shell shattering on me and doing me an injustice with safely containing all my ice cream, it was surprisingly tasty! Which, as I've noticed, waffles cones normally are on the blander side since I think ice cream joints expect the ice cream to be the star of the cone. But Booyah's waffles cones tasted great! BEST WAFFLE CONE YET! Even if it did fail me. The experience has made a lasting impression on my palate and my pants. I will definitely return to Booyah's to try the Cookie dough that never was...among 95% of the rest of the menu I have to try.
