The biggest Beast and Feast group outing yet!
Being blind folded for an hour and a half really works up an appetite! Hold on, that may sound a little suggestive… Let me explain.
Every year my girlfriend and my friends have gone completely over-board with birthday surprises for me. They’ll always spoil me with their efforts, and the lengths that they go-to that are beyond comprehensible. They’ve kept the surprises fresh, but one thing is always guaranteed on that day….we always go and get some good eats! A surprise lunch was submitted to me for that day, and as part of the custom, I was required to wear a blind-fold for the car ride up. Little did I know, it was going to be an hour and a half ride... The unknown car ride was itching my eagerness as well as my eyes, but I kept myself busy by popping and locking to some car jams on the ride there. Little did I know that as the car parked and I engaged the removal of my blind-fold, I was surprised by 20 of my friends outside a corner store in Niagara Falls! Wild… Just absolutely took me so off guard. I couldn’t believe the surprise, and I also couldn’t believe it when they told me they set up a camera in the car as well. The distress slowly washed over my face as I realized my killer dance moves were a secret no more. Humble humiliation is what it was. Anyways, the place we had driven so long and far for was called Mommaz Boyz. A small set up that was suggested to me by a good friend, who also happened to one of the twenty there. Here’s what went down!
Mommaz Boyz was boasted to me as a sub sandwich stop; but was much more than what I imagined. An exclusive menu renown to enticing and social-able bar eats as well as calzones, burgers, towering nachos and MASSIVE sub sandwiches. The Calzones and Nachos were huge and size, probably the biggest tray of nachos I’ve ever seen even. That only set me up for what was in store for their sandwiches. The sizes ranged from Momma sized to Large (pricing at 30+ dollars). This was probably the only time I have ever deliberately ordered a small size of anything. The size was widely inaccurate, or rather impressively surprising it its size! The girth of this sandwich was unlike any sub you’d find anywhere. I honestly have never had a sandwich of this size and proportion, and certainly not one like this that was considered a “small”. The bread was perfect, being so soft and light but toasted to perfection on the outside. Each bite would involve tactile positioning to which you could cut through the crust and graze down its soft, spongy core. A good sandwich needs to start with the bread, as it is the preliminary foundation to which every sandwich begins and ends on. I ordered the Canadian Heart Attack, which came filled with lots of salty bacon, peameal bacon, lettuce and tomatoes , fried onions, three-cheese blend and mayo. Everything worked so well together on this sandwich. I just was sanctified from mouth pleasure offered with every bite from this sandwich. The things that really stood out to me was the saltiness of the bacon and the mayo that cut it.
The sides were extra, so I sneaked a couple fries and onion rings which were all very good too. Bigger than your average ring and thick cut fries. I didn’t get to appreciate the other food so much, just because I was so engaged and content with my Sammy-wich. I honestly could not have had experience more pleasure from a sub sandwich unless it had given me a physical orgasm. But this ain’t no McChicken, its far more satisfying without having to be defiled.
The food was exceptional but the hospitality and service was something I’ve never encountered before. The owners invited me up to the counter for a birthday shot after my meal. Very cool and respectable guys to operate a business the way they do, where they really seem to put quality into their food and their customers experience. They wished me a happy birthday, poured me another shot, on the house btw, and wished me well on my night out. That’s just respectable service. Did I mention they have a boom box in the restaurant too?! When you come here, come with a good group of friends. Have a couple drinks, have some awesome hoagies and jam out to some beats that take you back!
