Another year, another empty wallet. Whose bright idea was this?! A non-profit food blog.... REALLY SMART. But all honesty its been really fun going on these food outings and people actually recognizing Beast and Feast. 2016 has brought a lot of food to this blog. I figured, I would end the year off by listing FIVE of my favourites! Why five?... Cause I'm gimmicky like that. So lets list off the TOP FIVE FEAST food joints encountered in 2016!

5.) Sweet Jesus

Sweet Jesus Ice cream had to make this top 5 list for its unbelievable soft serve for a ice cream whore like myself. The over the top bedazzling of these cones was a first for me at the time and it mad an impression in my soul. Its like having a blizzard with all the chunks, swirls and toppings crusted on the outside. It's something I'll always remember sharing with a friend who loves ice cream just as much as me. I'll also never forget the thought that came across my mind when I saw my cone being made, something I never thought I would think; "That's too much cookie dough".

4.) Old School

The Old School restaurant was where I ate the best pancakes I have ever had in my life. They remain to be on top for executing my favourite breakfast food to such glorified reckoning. The laid back atmosphere and the staff cool as a cucumber has me leaving with good vibes and a happy stomach. To return to Old School in 2017 would be more of privilege than an opportunity.

3.) Pizza Nostra

The story of a failed night turning epic. Pizza Nostra was an in-anticipated find that ended up being some of the best pizza I have ever had. Originally we were suppose to dine at Captain Robins in Port Credit, but misinterpreted the closing times. Pizza Nostra was a shot in the dark since I hadn't heard anything about the location until that night. With the overly compliant and gracious cook and owner making us pizza past hours, we luxuriously ate a pizza like no other.

2.) Koo Koos

The general trend of this list, if you can't tell, are standout foods that have been unlike the normal variety. The fried chicken at Koo Koo's is strong example of this also. Chicken with such a distinct crisp and unique crunch, you'll only tolerate all other fried chickens from that point on.

The last listing to this top 5 is Chadwick's. But may I just say that these top 5 are in no way ranked in a standing system. All 5 of these on the same level as far as ratings go. Not one is better nor worse than the other. They are just five places from the year that stood out to me.

1.) Chadwick's

This place has won the heart of my entire family. So much so that we have returned to Chadwick's 3 times since our first visit. It makes it the most visited place out of all the places I've reviewed. Their specially crafted dishes are as creative and funky as the next one. You'll have something that you've never had before, every time you return there, I have at least. There are few places you'll encounter that give you a family style dining experience with the food holding up a table conversation for the entire meal. I don't doubt that I will be coming back to Chadwick's again in 2017, with more interesting things to try.

There we have it. Just a quick post to end off the year! I want to thank everyone who has tuned into Beast and Beast, and given it life. The people who read and like these reviews gives me great appreciation and joy. Every time I receive a new suggestion from one of you about a food place to try, I am gratified with the recommendation and happy to see people humour this thing I've started. Thank you for all the support and food findings foodies! Lets eat our way through 2017!
